Condensate drains

Compressed air traps, or condensate drains, are essential components in a compressed air system.

Share:

Compressed air bleeders, or condensate drains, are essential components in a compressed air system. Often overlooked, these devices are critical to ensuring compressed air quality. Condensate build-up in the system can cause a number of serious problems, from decreased production efficiency to equipment failure and rust formation. Compressed air traps, or condensate drains, are installed at various points in the system, including cyclone separators, coalescing filters, air receivers and air dryers. Their function is to drain and separate condensate from the compressed air system. It is important to direct the condensate from the trap to an oil/water separator before releasing it to the drain, so that oils can be separated from the water. It is essential to ensure that the compressed air traps are working properly in order for the filters and separators to perform their task efficiently.
