Compressed air quality
It is of vital importance to the user that the compressed air is of the required quality. If contaminated air comes into contact with the end product, rejection costs can become unacceptably high and the cheapest solution can quickly become the most expensive. It is important to select compressed air quality in line with the company’s quality policy and even try to judge future needs.
Why is it important to consider air quality?
Compressed air can contain undesirable substances, e.g. water in the form of droplets or vapour, oil in the form of droplets or aerosol, as well as dust. Depending on the area of application of the compressed air, these substances can impair production results and even increase costs. The purpose of air treatment is to produce the compressed air quality specified by the consumer. When the function of compressed air in a process is clearly defined, finding the most cost-effective and efficient system for that particular situation is simple. This involves, among other things, establishing whether the compressed air will come into direct contact with the product or whether, for example, oil mist can be accepted in the working environment. A systematic approach to selecting the right equipment is required.
