This galvanizing process is carried out cold. The steel materials are coated with a thin layer of zinc, electrolytically. This layer is usually 8 to 12 microns, and can reach thicknesses of 30 microns. The difference with hot dip galvanizing is in the thicknesses and in the disadvantage that the piece can be deformed by the temperature. The thickness of the layer is proportional to the duration in time of the materials, without the appearance of red corrosion. After electrolytic galvanizing, we apply a final finish, this process is known as passivation. Passivates vary according to color and corrosion resistance. We can electrolytically galvanize up to 6 x 2 x 0.50” structures.
