Sorma introduces the new, 3-flutes HFA3D endmill that features special DLC rainbow coating and expands its range of ALU endmills for non-ferrous materials, part of the Osawa line of milling solutions.
The special rainbow DLC coating reduces friction allowing high speed machining; unequal pitch (UP) is particularly effective in reducing vibrations, while the margin with wiper geometry ensures excellent surface finish. Lapped flutes allow the HFA3D cutter to easily evacuate chips. The radiused margins enable the reduction of chipping of cutting edges.
Because of its characteristics, the HF3D is a first choice for nonferrous materials and can be used for multiple milling strategies, including grooving, side milling, helical milling, ramping, vertical milling, and drilling. The endmill is already included in the brand-new Osawa 2024 catalogue, available in diameters 1-10 mm with a broad range of cutting lengths in smaller diameters.
