On 15 February, the Madrid Association of Metalworking Companies (Aecim) presented the results of a survey of companies involved in machining, a sector that transforms parts from raw materials for use in manufacturing. The aim of the survey was to gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by these companies and, based on these, to create a working committee to address them.

Machining is a relevant sector in industries such as automotive, aerospace, rail, energy and medical, and is a fundamental pillar of the economy of the Community of Madrid, generating employment and providing value through the manufacture of key parts for industrial production and advanced technology. The survey results identified the sector’s main difficulties in terms of personnel and business costs.
