The IIE and MWCC turn Madrid into the World Capital of Engineering
The Spanish Institute of Engineering (IIE) and Madrid World Capital (MWCC) are turning Madrid into the World Engineering Capital to celebrate the international event “Engineering the cities of the future” on 2 and 3 March, as well as World Engineering Day on 4 March. The latter event is organised by the World Federation of Engineering Organisations, which is a member of UNESCO, and is sponsored by companies such as Atlantic Copper, Ferrovial, Typsa, EMT Madrid, Fundación AON, Tragsa, among others.
Madrid has been selected over other international cities to host these two important events, which will be attended by more than 300 leading international figures from the world of engineering. Both events will take place at the headquarters of the Spanish Institute of Engineering and will be attended by personalities from the political and business worlds. The conferences related to World Engineering Day will be broadcast live on the Internet and are expected to be followed by more than 50 million viewers from all over the world, a figure that was reached in last year’s edition.
