Hexagon cuts quality inspection cycles in half with Presto robotic inspection equipment
Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division has launched its new Presto automated robotic inspection equipment, which enables manufacturers to reduce quality inspection times, increase efficiency and streamline workflows. Presto will enable users, such as automotive OEMs, to address dynamic market demands, such as the shift to electromobility, by increasing measurement capacity and thereby reducing time-to-market.
The solution is based on Hexagon’s leading software, HxGN Robotic Automation, which has supported the automotive industry through an uncertain market to integrate Hexagon’s advanced 3D scanning and absolute positioning software and technologies into a single out-of-the-box solution. Manufacturers can’t afford to retool an entire production line to switch from building electric vehicles (EVs) to internal combustion engines (ICEs) or configure a supplier’s car door entry inspection. With Presto, the company is adapting quality inspection for dynamic and unpredictable weather, as well as enabling the future of smaller batch production of higher volume parts.
