Metal, among the main markets for industrial robotics
The Spanish Association of Robotics and Automation, founding member and sole representative in Spain of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), has published this morning the results of the internal studies of the Spain 2022 robotics park, for the first time in the industrial and service sectors.
The first conclusion is that 2022 was a satisfactory year for the robotics sector, after the stagnation of the previous three years. In terms of industrial robotics, the peak of robot installations in Spain was reached in 2018, with more than 5,000 installations.
In 2022, industrial robotics grew by +24.7% in Spain, according to sources from AER Automation’s internal study, which has already been officially provided to IFR to be considered by the Federation as a “secondary source” in its ‘World Robotics 2023’ report. The study is carried out with declarant-manufacturers who are members of the Association, and according to internal estimates it covers 75% of the real market size.
