The new EHLA technology can be used for rotationally symmetric bodies at deposition speeds, which are in the range of 100-200 m/min. In this way it is possible to produce thin, dense and metallurgically adhered coatings to the substrate with excellent properties. It is possible to obtain thicknesses between 100-250 µm per layer.
Good bonding properties and high deposition rates make EHLA a great alternative to chrome plating or thermal spray processes.
Among the current applications of EHLA are the coatings on hydraulic pistons to replace chrome plating, or also the anti-wear coatings on brake discs.
TECNOCLAD LASER SOLUTIONS is the first company in Spain offering this service and is currently working on its development for new materials and applications.
