Creada una bacteria que convierte el CO2 en productos industriales
Investigadores de la empresa LanzaTech han desarrollado una bacteria capaz de convertir los gases de efecto invernadero como el dióxido de carbono en productos como el isopropanol y la acetona de forma eficaz y a escala casi industrial. La producción química de ambos emplea materias primas fósiles y requiere muchísima energía, además de generar gases de efecto invernadero. Con el nuevo sistema, producir ambos productos de amplio uso industrial ya no liberaría CO2 al medio ambiente, sino que lo consumiría.
