Airtech release films, both perforated and unperforated, are essential in composite manufacturing processes, especially in the aerospace and automotive industries. These films are placed between the composite material and other consumables during the curing process to prevent the final laminate from sticking to the vacuum layers or mould. Non-perforated release films are ideal when a complete barrier is required to prevent resin leakage by protecting the surface of the materials during curing.
Perforated release films, on the other hand, allow greater control over the flow of resins and gases, facilitating the evacuation of trapped air and ensuring more uniform consolidation of the composite material. Perforations can vary in size and density according to the needs of the process, allowing them to adapt to different pressure conditions and resin types. Airtech’s perforated products, such as Wrightlon® 5200 and A4000, are widely used for their ability to handle extreme temperatures and their versatility in a variety of manufacturing processes.
